Jennings - Costs Consultancy - Civil Departments
Jennings operates specialist departments in all areas
of law, including civil, family, care, criminal and
probate. We also have an established negotiations department,
which negotiates costs with the paying party. This is
particularly beneficial to clients in their departmental
budgeting. Furthermore, we have specialists able to
attend detailed assessment hearings throughout England
and Wales.
We pride ourselves on bringing in-depth legal knowledge
to the task of costs consulting.

Civil |
In recent years, the introduction of the Civil
Procedure Rules, together with The Access to justice
Act, CFA Regulations and developing case law,
has resulted in new costs issues. These include
proportionality and costs recovery, Conditional
Fee Agreements and success fees. We are fully
conversant with these changes and our consultants
are able to identify those areas where the maximum
recovery can be sought and advise accordingly. |
We prepare all types of bills, including personal
injury, clinical negligence, breach of contract,
building and boundary disputes, immigration, judicial
Review, Appeals, Court of Protection and Appeals
by way of case stated. We are also experienced
in the preparation of bills for Court Martial
and Tribunal work. We deal with all of the Courts,
from County Court and High Court, to Court of
Appeal.

Family & Care |
As with civil matters, family and care cases
have been affected by the extensive new and revised
regulations. As a result, we are able to advise
on specific issues, including percentage reductions
on late submission and the appropriate level of
uplift in relation to the new LSC criteria. |
We have considerable experience in family and
care work. We prepare bills for all types of injunctions,
ancillary relief matters and contact and residence
disputes. We handle cases relating to child abduction
and the High Court's inherent jurisdiction. We
regularly deal with substantial and complex care
files (including high costs care cases) and, consequently,
have the expertise to advise on the appropriate
levels of enhancement.
